Texas Water Development Board approves $1,128,000 to the Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation (Fayette County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 16, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,128,000, consisting of $628,000 in financing and $500,000 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, to the Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation (Fayette County). The Corporation will use the assistance for planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the Corporation could save approximately $400,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

With the financial assistance approved today, the Corporation will construct a new arsenic filtration treatment system at its water treatment plant.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
