Texas Water Development Board approves $700,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Valley View (Cooke County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 16, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $700,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Valley View (Cooke County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning and design of a wastewater system improvement project.

The City could save approximately $2,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will upgrade distribution lines, repair and replace manholes, upgrade treatment equipment for increased flow, and add overflow ponds with new aerators.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
