Texas Water Development Board approves $2,299,908 to the City of Comanche (Comanche County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (January 6, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,299,908, consisting of $1,506,000 in financing and $793,908 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, to the City of Comanche (Comanche County). The City will use the assistance for planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $666,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will make improvements to its water system, including replacing 10,000 linear feet of distribution lines and approximately 150 water service meters.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
