AUSTIN – (January 6, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $4,751,000 in financial assistance, consisting of $3,561,000 in financing and $1,190,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to the City of Corpus Christi (Nueces County). The City will use the assistance for planning and design of a stormwater system improvement project.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $350,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will plan and design a project to enhance a 12-mile section of the Oso Creek channel and several miles of earthen channels that convey stormwater to Oso Creek. The project is anticipated to improve the capacity of the stormwater system and reduce stormwater pollution.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
