Texas Water Development Board approves $300,000 to the City of Melvin (McCulloch County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (November 17, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $300,000 in principal forgiveness to the City of Melvin (McCulloch County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. The City will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of a water system improvement project.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will rehabilitate its existing 40,000-gallon ground storage tank and replace approximately 2,100 feet of water line. The City will also install new shutoff valves and replace additional water line as funding allows.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
