Texas Water Development Board approves $269,608 to the City of Miles (Runnels County) for a water supply project

AUSTIN – (November 17, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $269,608 in principal forgiveness to the City of Miles (Runnels County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. The City will use the assistance for the planning of a water supply project.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will develop a long-term water supply strategy that will identify and evaluate alternative water supply options, including the development of additional surface water or groundwater, as well as potential treatment of its existing groundwater. The project will also include developing an asset management plan.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
