AUSTIN – (February 2, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $10,235,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Henrietta (Clay County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of wastewater system improvements.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City proposes to decommission the two existing wastewater treatment plants and construct a new plant. The consolidation to a new plant also requires the construction of new sewer lines and two lift stations to interconnect the two collection systems.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
