Texas Water Development Board approves $7,200,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Bells (Grayson County) for water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (March 3, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $7,200,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Bells (Grayson County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater system improvements.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will install a new groundwater well and pump, backup generators, water meters and distribution lines, and a data acquisition system for its water supply system. Wastewater system improvements include aeration equipment, chlorine contact basin, alarm system, pumps, ancillary systems, and wastewater collection system repairs and replacements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
