Texas Water Development Board approves $5,919,000 to the City of Jacksonville (Cherokee County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (May 11, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,919,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) to the City of Jacksonville (Cherokee County). The City will use the assistance for the planning, design, acquisition, and construction of a wastewater collection system project.

With the assistance provided today, the City could save approximately $650,000 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will replace approximately 9,500 linear feet of sewer trunk main with a larger, 24-inch pipe. Additionally, the City will replace the Lakeshore Lift Station to increase its capacity.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
