AUSTIN – (June 9, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $73,203,704 for stormwater, wastewater, and flood projects.
- $27,500,000 to the City of Sugar Land (Fort Bend County) for a flood mitigation project
- $1,703,704 to the City of Los Fresnos (Cameron County) for stormwater drainage improvements
- $44,000,000 to the Lumberton Municipal Utility District (Hardin County) for a wastewater treatment plant
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
