AUSTIN – (July 7, 2022) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $6,775,000 to the City of Corrigan (Polk County), consisting of $2,450,000 in financing and $4,325,000 in loan forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, acquisition, design, and construction of a wastewater improvement project.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $1,600,000 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City intends to acquire new property adjacent to the existing wastewater treatment plant for an expansion that will double its current treatment capacity. The City then plans to remove the existing wastewater treatment plant components from service for rehabilitation. In addition, the City will create and implement an asset management plan and emergency preparedness plan.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
