Texas Water Development Board approves $3,000,000 to the Chatt Water Supply Corporation (Hill County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (October 5, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,000,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Chatt Water Supply Corporation (Hill County). The Corporation will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of a water system improvement project.

The Corporation could save approximately $753,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

With the financial assistance approved today, the Corporation will drill a new water well with an anticipated capacity of 250 gallons per minute. The Corporation will also construct a new chlorine disinfection system to treat the new raw groundwater supply, a new 10,000-gallon ground storage tank for treated water storage, and a new pump station and piping to connect the new treated groundwater supply to the Corporation’s existing distribution system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
