AUSTIN – (October 5, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,950,000 to the Crystal Clear Special Utility District (Guadalupe County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The District will use the assistance for the construction of a water system improvement project.

The District could save approximately $348,000 over the life of the loan by using the DWSRF.

Due to an escalation in construction costs, the District requested additional funds for the remaining work to complete a water system improvement project at multiple locations throughout the water system. With the financial assistance approved today, the District will construct a 600,000-gallon ground storage tank at the Nelson booster station, three booster pumps, a detention pond, and approximately 6,500 linear feet of water main along Watson Lane.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
