AUSTIN – (October 5, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $13,840,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) to the City of La Porte (Harris County). The City will use the assistance for the construction of a wastewater system improvement project.
The City could save approximately $2,400,000 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF.
Due to escalated construction costs, the City requested additional construction funds for the Lomax Area Wastewater Lift Station Consolidation Project. The project will extend approximately 20,000 linear feet of gravity sewer and 8,100 linear feet of force main and construct new manholes to replace nine existing sanitary lift stations with a single lift station.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
