Texas Water Development Board approves $300,000 to the Avalon Point Water Services, LLC dba Medina Highlands (Bandera County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (November 9, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $300,000 in principal forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) to the Avalon Point Water Services, LLC dba Medina Highlands (Bandera County). Medina Highlands will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

With the assistance approved today, Medina Highlands will construct a new 75 gallons-per-minute water well to provide a more reliable source of water supply for the community. Medina Highlands will also replace approximately 12 water meters and develop an asset management plan for the system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
