Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $27,934,444 for water, wastewater, and flood projects

AUSTIN – (March 9, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $27,934,444 for water, wastewater, and flood projects.

  • $1,956,400 to El Paso County for a flood mitigation project
  • $5,988,044 to the City of Taylor (Williamson County) for a flood mitigation project
  • $7,145,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Whitewright (Grayson County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $3,770,000 to the Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 22 (Harris County) for water and wastewater system improvements
  • $3,000,000 to the Memorial Point Utility District (Polk County) for water and wastewater system improvements
  • $6,075,000 to the City of Primera (Cameron County) for wastewater system improvements

 The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
