AUSTIN – (April 6, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $505,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of Gober Municipal Utility District (Fannin County). The District will use the assistance for the construction of water system improvements.

The District could save approximately $25,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

In November 2020, the TWDB approved a $830,000 commitment to the Authority on behalf of the District from the DWSRF for planning, acquisition, design, and construction of water system improvements. Project costs have exceeded the original budget, and the District requires additional funds to complete construction of the project. With the financial assistance approved today, the District will replace approximately 11,000 linear feet of water lines, install variable frequency drives at an existing well pump and at the high service pump station, install a new backup generator for the well and pump station, and install a liner inside the existing ground storage tank.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
