Texas Water Development Board approves $1,000,000 to the Dogwood Springs Water Supply Corporation (Anderson County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (May 4, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,000,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Dogwood Springs Water Supply Corporation (Anderson County). The Corporation will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

The Corporation could save approximately $348,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

With the financial assistance approved today, the Corporation will drill a new well to provide additional water supply and to act as a redundant source to the existing operating well. The project also includes plugging a well, ground storage tank cleaning, and water plant site improvements. The Corporation will also calibrate their intake meter and replace it if necessary.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
