AUSTIN – (June 6, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $132,184,096 for water and wastewater projects through the Economically Distressed Areas Program and state revolving funds.

  • $24,000,000 to Maverick County for water and wastewater system improvements
  • $2,200,000 to the Military Highway Water Supply Corporation (Cameron County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $8,510,000 to the City of Mission (Hidalgo County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $14,200,000 to the North Alamo Water Supply Corporation (Hidalgo County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $4,600,000 to Presidio County for water and wastewater system improvements
  • $28,930,096 to El Paso Water acting on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $3,819,000 to the Airline Improvement District (Harris County) for water and sewer service improvements
  • $14,365,000 to the San Leon Municipal Utility District (Galveston County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $960,000 to the Barksdale Water Supply Corporation (Edwards County) for water system improvements
  • $30,600,000 to the City of Pflugerville (Travis County) for wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
