AUSTIN – (August 10, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount $11,432,583 to the City of Moody (McLennan County), consisting of $3,475,000 in financing and $7,957,583 in principal forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). The City will use the assistance for the planning, acquisition, design, and construction of a new wastewater treatment plant.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $2,800,000 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF.

With the assistance approved today, the City will construct a new wastewater treatment plant using conventional activated sludge technology with a designed capacity of 0.3 million gallons per day. The new plant will include two clarifiers, a sludge thickening basin, and an emergency generator. The City will also develop an asset management plan.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
