Texas Water Development Board approves $102,041 to the Glidden Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (Colorado County) for a lead service line inventory

AUSTIN – (October 17, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $102,041 to the Glidden Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (Colorado County), consisting of $50,000 in financing and $52,041 in principal forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Lead Service Line Replacement Program. The District will use the assistance to fund a lead service line inventory.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the District could save approximately $11,500 over the life of the loan by using the DWSRF.

With the assistance approved today, the District will be reimbursed for the costs of completing a lead service line inventory of its distribution system. The District determined that their system does not contain any services lines with lead or galvanized materials.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
