LUBBOCK – (April 11, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $18,470,000 to the Crystal Clear Special Utility District (Guadalupe County) from the Texas Water Development Fund. The District will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

The District could save approximately $600,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will construct three new elevated storage tanks to add 2.5 million gallons of storage capacity to the system. The District will also construct approximately 14,000 linear feet of new water main lines and complete construction of three wells that were previously drilled and cased in 2013 when they were identified as future water sources.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
