Texas Water Development Board approves $3,903,919 to the City of Blanco (Blanco County) for a water system project

AUSTIN – (May 9, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount $3,903,919 to the City of Blanco (Blanco County), consisting of $3,390,000 in financing and $513,919 in principal forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The City will use the assistance for the planning, acquisition, design, and construction of a water system project.
In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $1,100,000 over the life of the loan by using the DWSRF.
With the assistance approved today, the City will replace water lines in three locations, including approximately 900 linear feet along the south side of 9th Street, approximately 12,000 linear feet along Ceilo Springs Drive between US 281 and Kendalia Drive, and 1,400 linear feet near Heimer Lane along the Blanco River.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
