AUSTIN – (May 9, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,265,500 to the City of Brady (McCulloch County), consisting of $680,000 in financing and $1,585,500 in grant funding from the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP). The City will use the financial assistance for the planning, design, and construction of a water distribution system improvements project.

In addition to the grant funding, the City could save approximately $2,600 over the life of the loan by using EDAP.

With the assistance approved today, the City will replace more than 11,000 feet of water lines with properly sized pipes to eliminate leaks and reduce water loss. The City will also replace existing fire hydrants and isolation valves and develop an asset management plan.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
