Texas Water Development Board approves $5,875,000 to the City of Cut and Shoot (Montgomery County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (May 9, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,875,000 to the City of Cut and Shoot (Montgomery County) from the Texas Water Development Fund. The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of a water system improvement project.
The City could save approximately $223,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.
With the assistance approved today, the City will drill a new 600-gallon-per-minute water well and install a 250,000-gallon elevated storage tank to provide capacity for up to 1,700 connections within the City’s service area.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
