Texas Water Development Board approves $300,000 to the Loma Alta Water Supply Corporation (Hale County) for a water system project

AUSTIN – (June 12, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $300,000 in principal forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) to the Loma Alta Water Supply Corporation (Hale County). The Corporation will use the assistance for the planning, acquisition, design, and construction of a water system project.

With the assistance approved today, the Corporation will construct a treated water supply line to Grand Castle Estates Water Supply Corporation, an adjacent water provider. The Corporation will blend existing water supply with purchased water from Grand Castle Estates Water Supply Corporation. The project also includes new service pumps, a ground storage tank, and a chlorination system. The Corporation will also replace a sand filtration device, rehabilitate an existing pump station, and replace 24 existing water meters to assess water loss.  

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
