Texas Water Development Board approves $3,957,600 to the City of Corrigan (Polk County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (August 21, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,957,600 in financial assistance, consisting of $400,000 in financing and $3,557,600 in grant funding, to the City of Corrigan (Polk County) from the Rural Water Assistance Fund (RWAF) for water system improvements.

With the RWAF financial assistance approved today, the city will install 650 water meters, construct a new water well, replace approximately 5,000 feet of waterlines, and increase the capacity of its existing pressure tank.

The city could save approximately $73,353 over the life of the financing and $3,557,600 in grant funding.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
