Texas Water Development Board approves $4,759,027 to the City of Hamilton (Hamilton County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (August 21, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance to the City of Hamilton (Hamilton County) including
- $2,481,690 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to replace approximately 9,900 linear feet of its water distribution system, improve the reliability of the system, and ensure the city's ability to provide clean drinking water; and
- $2,277,337 in grant funding from the Rural Water Assistance Fund to replace more than 10,000 feet of water lines, 105 gate valves, 38 fire hydrants, and develop an asset management plan.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
