Texas Water Development Board approves $101,955,000 to the City of Pflugerville (Travis and Williamson counties) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (August 21, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $101,955,000 to the City of Pflugerville (Travis and Williamson counties) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) including
- $27,180,000 from the DWSRF for upgrades to its water treatment plant to address hydrilla and zebra mussel raw water infestations and expand capacity from 17.7 to 30 million gallons per day to meet projected water demand; and
- $74,775,000 from the DWSRF to expand the Colorado River Raw Water Pump Station capacity from 11 to 22 million gallons per day and the installation of approximately 15 miles of raw water pipeline.
The city could save approximately $27,730,519 over the life of the financing.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
