Texas Water Development Board approves $1,490,000 to the Silver Creek Village Water Supply Corporation (Burnet County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (August 21, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,490,000 in financial assistance consisting of $590,000 in financing and $900,000 in principal forgiveness, to the Silver Creek Village Water Supply Corporation (Burnet County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) for the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

With the DWSRF financial assistance approved today, the corporation will construct a surface water treatment plant, add two submersible pumps, 550 feet of transmission lines, two high-pressure service pumps, and a generator. The corporation will also decommission a well.

The city could save approximately $271,367 over the life of the financing and $900,000 in principal forgiveness.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
