AUSTIN – (September 18, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,155,000 to the G-M Water Supply Corporation (Sabine and San Augustine counties), consisting of $1,550,000 in financing and $3,605,000 in grant funding, from the Water Loan Assistance Fund (WLAF). The Corporation will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

In addition to the grant funding, the Corporation could save approximately $875,000 over the life of the loan by using the WLAF.

With the assistance approved today, the Corporation will reduce water loss in its distribution system by replacing 4,500 feet of water lines, adding 2,000 feet of new water lines, and expanding its surface water treatment plant capacity.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
