Texas Water Development Board approves $8,015,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of Lake Kiowa Special Utility District (Cooke County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (September 18, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $8,015,000 in financing to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of Lake Kiowa Special Utility District (Cooke County) from the Texas Water Development Fund (TWDF). The District will use the assistance for the construction of a water system improvement project.

The District could save approximately $1,400,000 over the life of the loan by using the TWDB.

With the assistance approved today, the District will replace over five miles of water lines.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
