AUSTIN – (March 13, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $4,450,000 to the Ames-Minglewood Water Supply Corporation (Liberty County), consisting of $445,000 in financing and $4,005,000 in grant funding, from the Rural Water Assistance Fund (RWAF). The Corporation will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of a water system improvement project.
In addition to the grant funding, the Corporation could save approximately $170,000 over the life of the loan by using the RWAF.
With the assistance approved today, the Corporation will reduce water loss in its distribution system by replacing 30,595 linear feet of water lines, 124 water meters, and an elevated storage tank. The elevated storage tank will be expanded to a capacity of 60,000 gallons and two service pumps will be expanded to 1,000-gallons-per-minute. The Corporation will also install 31 new fire hydrants.
