Texas Water Development Board approves $7,345,000 to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 215 (Harris County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (May 8, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $7,345,000 in financing to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 215 (Harris County) from the Texas Water Development Fund. The District will use the assistance for the construction of a wastewater system improvements project.
The District could save approximately $153,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.
With the assistance approved today, the District will make improvements and expand the capacity of a wastewater treatment plant that is jointly owned and operated with Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 200. The District will also purchase a generator.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
