Texas Water Development Board approves $55,000 to the City of Grandview (Johnson County) to evaluate its system for potential emerging contaminants

AUSTIN – (June 25, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $55,000 in principal forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund Emerging Contaminants program to the City of Grandview (Johnson County). The City will use the assistance for a study to evaluate its system for potential emerging contaminants.

With the assistance approved today, the City will evaluate its existing water, wastewater, and drainage facilities to determine the presence and levels of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoralkyl substances (PFAS). The City will also prepare a plan to remove or mitigate the presence of PFAS.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
