AUSTIN – (March 31, 2026) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $6,224,250 to the Jim Hogg County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Jim Hogg County), consisting of $375,000 in financing and $5,849,250 in principal forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The District will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.
In addition to the principal forgiveness, the District could save approximately $324,000 over the life of the loan by using the DWSRF.
With the assistance approved today, the District will construct a new 250,000-gallon elevated storage tank, a new 500,000-gallon ground storage tank, a new chlorination system and building, and a new pump house. The project also includes installing a new supervisory control and data acquisition system, tying the proposed new water storage tanks into the existing water distribution system, and replacing electrodialysis reversal desalination membranes.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
