Texas Water Development Board approves $15,650,000 to the Manville Water Supply Corporation (Williamson, Lee, Bastrop, and Travis counties) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (April 16, 2026) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $15,650,000 in principal forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Emerging Contaminants Program to the Manville Water Supply Corporation (Williamson, Lee, Bastrop, and Travis counties). The Corporation will use the assistance for the acquisition, design, and construction of a water system improvements project to address emerging contaminants.
With the assistance approved today, the Corporation will implement improvements by using reverse osmosis as its preferred treatment method. Though, the final treatment alternative will be selected during the planning phase after the completion of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality pilot study. The proposed improvements are limited to the Corporation’s Tacon Water Treatment Plant location with five active wells and a total production capacity of 1,150 gallons per minute.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
