Texas Water Development Board approves financial assistance totaling $82,276,365 for water and wastewater projects

AUSTIN – (August 15, 2024) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $82,276,365 for water and wastewater projects.
- $2,135,784 to the City of Gordon (Palo Pinto County) for water system improvements
- $122,449 to the City of Mertzon (Irion County) for a lead service line inventory
- $1,000,000 to the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District (Carson, Gray, Donley, Roberts, Armstrong, Potter, Hutchinson, and Wheeler counties) for an agricultural water conservation loan program
- $7,400,000 to the City of Pearsall (Frio County) for water system improvements
- $39,315,000 to the City of Port Lavaca (Calhoun County) for wastewater system improvements
- $11,310,000 to the City of Rio Grande City (Starr County) for water system improvements
- $7,705,000 to the Angelina and Neches River Authority (Angelina County) for a water system project
- $11,706,500 to the City of Jacksonville (Cherokee County) for wastewater system improvements
- $1,581,632 to the Westwood Shores Municipal Utility District (Trinity County) for a lead service line replacement project
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
