HARLINGEN – (September 14, 2023) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $38,625,000 for water and wastewater projects.
- $10,000,000 to the Harlingen Waterworks System on behalf of the City of Harlingen (Cameron County) for wastewater system improvements
- $681,000 to the City of Garrison (Nacogdoches County) for a wastewater treatment plant replacement project
- $12,980,000 to the Laguna Madre Water District (Cameron County) for water system improvements
- $4,289,000 to the City of Mertzon (Irion County) for water system improvements
- $10,675,000 to the City of Magnolia (Montgomery County) for a wastewater treatment plant expansion
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
