AUSTIN, TEXAS – (December 16, 2025) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $239,450,567 for water, wastewater, and flood mitigation projects.
- $361,720 to the Cameron County Drainage District No. 5 (Cameron County) for a flood mitigation strategy project
- $98,000 to the City of Taylor Lake Village (Harris County) for a flood mitigation strategy project
- $49,000,000 to the City of Abilene (Taylor County) for water system improvements
- $58,780,000 to the City of Mineral Wells (Palo Pinto County) for water system improvements
- $11,856,872 to the Upper Leon River Municipal Water District (Comanche County) for water system improvements
- $6,953,454 to the South Freestone County Water Supply Corporation (Freestone County) for water system improvements
- $2,262,970 to the Paxton Water Supply Corporation (Shelby County) for water system improvements
- $16,080,000 to the City of Cleveland (Liberty County) for wastewater system improvements
- $2,877,551 to the City of Duncanville (Dallas County) for lead service line inventory
- $90,000,000 to the City of Fort Worth (Tarrant, Denton, Parker, Wise counties) for a flood mitigation project
- $1,180,000 to the Study Butte Water Supply Corporation (Brewster County) for water system improvements
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
